Accessibility: An accessible van will be available for the duration of the service change, serving Red Line stations between JFK/UMass and Ashmont only. Riders should see station personnel or use the call box to request the accessible van.

Extra Travel Times: Riders using shuttle buses during these service changes should budget ample extra travel time. For example, a rider travelling to Park Street from Mattapan should plan for at least an additional 45 – 60 minutes of travel time to their regular commute.

Commuter Rail Alternates: Riders are encouraged to use the Fairmount Commuter Rail Line for alternate service. It will be fare-free during this work.

Shuttle stops: An intermediate shuttle stop will be available in both directions between JFK/UMass and Savin Hill.

Cedar Grove: All Buses – Adams St @ Milton St Cedar Grove will not be serviced in either direction from 9 PM on April 5 through the end of service that evening.

Butler: All Buses – Adams St @ Butler St Butler will not be serviced in either direction from 9 PM on April 5 through the end of service that evening.

Milton: All Buses – Adams St @ Eliot St

Central Ave: All Buses – Eliot St @ Central Ave

Red Line Ashmont Branch: Service between JFK/UMass and Ashmont will operate with two shuttle trains from April 10 - 30 to allow for critical track work. Riders will experience longer wait times for trains and should plan extra travel time. Alert missing alt text for image

Shuttle Train Information: A shuttle train is one train that will operate, back and forth, between Ashmont and JFK/UMass on a single track. Two shuttle trains will be operating between Ashmont and JFK/UMass during this work – one on each track. Shuttle trains will terminate at JFK/UMass. Riders will need to transfer from the Ashmont side of JFK/UMass station to the Braintree side for continued service towards Alewife, or southbound service to Braintree.

Travel Times: Riders will experience longer wait times for trains during this work and should allow for extra travel time.

Commuter Rail: Riders can connect to Fairmount Commuter Rail service by using bus route 22 from Ashmont to Talbot Ave station.

Green Line B Branch: Service will originate / terminate at the Lake Street platform, just outside of Boston College Station, from 8:45 PM on Friday, April 11 through the end of service on Sunday, April 13. This to allow for maintenance work in the BC yard

🚌 Shuttle Buses replace Green Line service between Government Center and Medford/Tufts, the weekend of April 26 - 27, for maintenance work. Union Square riders can use Bus routes 109, 87, or 91 to connect to shuttles or the Orange Line at Sullivan Square.

Accessible van service will be available at Magoun Square Station. Riders can request this service by seeing onsite personnel.

Riders are encouraged to utilize the Orange Line for parallel service through downtown Boston.
